Your Huntington Orthodontist

Before moving to Huntington, Dr. Paikh practiced in Woodbury, New York, where she took over a practice from a retiring orthodontist.

Additionally, Dr. Parikh was an orthodontic faculty member at New York University College of Dentistry.

She taught diagnosis and treatment planning, growth and development, adult orthodontic treatment and clinical efficiency.

Dr. Parikh is a lifelong student and is committed to staying up to date on the newest advancements in the field by attending continuing education courses and conferences.

Huntington Braces

Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They are composed of metal or ceramic brackets that are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics.

Through regular adjustments with Dr. Parikh, these brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in.

Huntington braces are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Braces can provide you with slightly shorter treatment times because they sometimes align your teeth and close gaps faster than other treatments might. Huntington Braces don’t need some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, making braces a cost-effective orthodontic option.

Huntington Invisalign

Instead of brackets and bands, the Huntington Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth. Invisalign is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists and is the top alternative to traditional braces.

Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. These nearly invisible trays will generally be switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series to keep teeth moving in the direction we want them to. Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment.

If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process. The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed exactly!

Huntington Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. A free consultation with Hidden Smiles Orthodontics will allow us to determine your Invisalign eligibility.
