Propel treatment provides innovative devices and procedures to move teeth much quicker than ordinary treatment. Dr. Parikh can use Propel with clear aligners, clear braces, metal braces, and TADs (temporary anchorage devices). Propel uses your body’s natural physiologic system to help bone respond faster to orthodontic treatment.
Propel works by removing some of the external surfaces of the bone. The bone then goes through a phase where the mineral content is temporarily decreased. The tissue of the bone releases rich deposits of calcium, and new bone begins to mineralize. While in this transition phase, bone is softer, and there is less resistance for the existing braces, allowing them to move up to 50% faster. The end result is a straighter smile in less time and with fewer in-office visits.
